There is so much anti-welfare propaganda these days in all forms of media, be it TV or newspapers. How you hear of “jobless” jobseeker “benefit scroungers” who all “don’t want to work” either too work-shy or lazy draining up your taxes.
If you are a jobseeker who only claims JSA, you should remind them of the following:
- You spend 17 times more taxes paying pensions
- You spend 6 times more taxes on paying for social services
- You spend almost 9 times more taxes paying for Tax Credits etc. (benefits for the employed or economically inactive)
- You spend almost 3 times more taxes on further & higher education
- You spend almost 13 times more taxes on schools (even if you don’t have children or have grown up and left home)
- You spend 7 times more taxes supporting wars murdering many innocent people propping up arms companies (“defence”)
- You spend 3 times more taxes on police services nationally (that is in addition to the cost of police on your Council Tax which is not included in this calculation -which is income tax only)
- You spend almost 5 times more taxes propping up corrupt politicians, parliament and EU contribution
- You spend 2 times more taxes on research and development (not doubt wasted money on worthless consultancies)
- You spend almost 9 times more taxes just on debt interest
- You spend more taxes on “local public transport” (i.e. buses etc. excludes trains; nationally), “recreation” (again likely pumped into somewhere not local having no benefit to yourself), “Overseas Aid” (including as bribes, where the money goes to corrupt state not the people its
intendedsupposed to help) and “Waste disposal“.
None of the above includes non direct (indirect) taxes such as VAT, Alcohol Duty, Council Tax, Capital Gains Tax, Tobacco Duty and Fuel Duty etc. – it only includes income tax.
